Rock & Republic | Premium Denim Jeans

Rock & Republic | Premium Denim Jeans

Founded in 2002 by Michael Ball, Rock & Republic hit the streets running with celebrities across the globe as it was one of the original American jean brands that was apart of the initial premium denim jeans craze that continues today. Michael had experience in design from creating a cycling jersey for his cycling team.

Coveted for it's fit, distinctive design and quality craftsmanship, the legendary style of Rock and Republic is made for the spotlight. Rock and revel.

With the economy down the drain, Rock & Republic, mainly known for their Hollywood lifestyle premium denim jeans, filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection in April of 2010. Later that year, the brand was picked up by VP Corporation who also owns denim jean brands Wrangler, Lee and 7 For All Mankind. Now you can add Rock & Republic thanks to a bankruptcy auction in March.

To many peoples surprise, the new launch of Rock & Republic last month includes exclusive availability at Kohl's. VF is handling the jean manufacturing and design to keep the brands premium denim spotlight while Kohl's will be handling the rest of the apparel categories. This means that the once $200+ pair of jeans are now available for $88. A huge price reduction that brings out mixed feelings among it's new and old consumers. Other joint ventures like this have proven to be a great success including Versace in H&M and Missoni in Target.

There are millions of people looking for affordable premium denim and designer clothing and fashion so look out for Rock & Republic in the near future. With only premium denim, basic tops and shoes on racks now, I wouldn't be surprised if they got involved in more categories creating an extremely successful brand within Kohl's.
